I have a very notchy gear change on my manual AWD gearbox. I've read that using a newer lubricant can dramatically improve this situation.

I know the gear change issue is common on the MTX75 boxes and has been discussed on many forums and threads.

Basically I want to source the Motorcraft XT-M5-QS fluid but is this something I can source at my local Ford dealer? If not is there an equivalent spec for the Ford product in the UK?

Cheers,
Grant

Hi Grant,

Not sure about your local Ford Dealer but I found a selection of decent gear oils the other day here if you don't mind mail order?

Thanks Kris, haven't used Demon Tweeks for a long time (during build of my Westfield), but good idea.

During my search I did find the following:

Manual Gearbox.
Classification: WSD-M2C200-C
Viscosity: 75w/90
Capacity: 1.75L

Jaguar: Castrol BOT 130M (C2S19889) £12.78/Liter +VAT
Ford: Motorcraft XT-M5-QS (FINIS:1045737) £10.71/Liter +VAT
Alternatives;
Motul GEAR 300 75W-90 Ester Synthetic.

Hopefully this should allow me to pick up the Motorcraft at my local Ford dealer - closer and cheaper than the Jag one - they may even be open on a Sat morning

Grant
