Default RE: Parking Brake waring light and Crazy Odometer

fax88, looking at the diagrams, for example, the parking brake light is pretty much all controlled from the computer built into the instrument cluster. The only part outside of the instrument cluster is a single wire leading to a switch on the parking brake which gets grounded as you engage the brake. So, based on this, odds are, you are experiencing an issue with the electronics inside the instrument cluster, which will require replacement of the instrument cluster. Now, before you just blindly replace the instrument cluster, look over the solder joints to see if you happen to have a cracked solder joint (or multiple). It is possible that a cracked solder joint will give you intermittent normal operation. This will be characterized by a perceived black ring around the solder joint. It is actually the crack that you are seeing. A soldering iron and a little bit of solder and all will be good. If no signs of a cracked solder joint, then replacement is your more likely option.

Wish the news was better, but without getting my hands on your car and doing in depth electrical checks to prove it is the instrument cluster, this is the best I can do.
