Hi, Can anyone provide information on whether the 2.0D S has a seperate amplifier on the music? I am having a Parrot fitted and the installer nneds to know as it affects which harness is used.

 

Mister, the amplifier is in the radio if you have the standard radio (ie, no subs in the trunk). if you have the subs in the trunk, then you have the premium sound system and there is an amp in the vehicle. Another give away is if you look at the rear door handles, do you see a small speaker opening/grille there? If yes, then you have the premium sound system and you have the separate amp. No opening there, no amp.

Hope this answers your question. Granted, the installer should have had this information in his resources there in the shop. Otherwise, how is he going to know which wires to hook into. Just saying.

I have the tweeter (mini speaker) at the door handle but no subwoofer in the trunk. Do I therefore have an amplifier?
