Default Power Brake Booster 2003 2.5 X type

How do I disconnect the vacuum feed line from the manifold to the booster ?
Do they just pull out or do I need a special tool. - Any advice much appreciated.
I just spent $3000 getting an earlier suspected vacuum leak fixed and it is no better. I seem to remember a similar problem a few years ago, and the booster was at fault, and I want to disconnect it to test it out.
My problem (which I posted earlier) was the motor almost "dying" at about 2000rpm when cold , then ok once up to temperature.

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Center to X-Type forum. The Feedback & Suggestion Center is for questions about the forum and NOT for technical questions.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

No special tool needed. Just take something like a screwdriver and gently push down on the black plastic base the hose fits into. Then pull the hose straight out. Incredibly simple once you know how.

$3000 to fix a vacuum leak? Man, that is a lot of money. Just what did they do?

Never to far. I have shipped all over the world. Denmark has my headlights. England has shock mounts and wire holders. Spain has front headlight washers. Australia has child seat safety seat latches. India has Glovebox lock, brake master cylinder.

Good luck with whatever you do,
The Dr!

The booster test did not fix the problem. - I used a Lab Doctor OBD Tester today and it diagnosed a PO193 fault, --ie. Injection pressure sensor circuit high voltage, -- Fuel rail pressure sensor high. -- Could this fault give me the problem of the motor almost dying intermittently when running cold, until it gets up to temperature, when it is fine ??

Default brake booster

If you push down on the vacuum hose it is "supposed to release" It did not work for me and I had to wrestle it out. Then I had to purchase a new vacuum hose adapter kit, as the o rings got damages.

You dont push the hose down, you push the ring around the hose down, then pull the hose up.

Default Vacuum booster

It is a simple 2 piece system push down on the ring that is around the line with a pliers and pull up on the line

Apologies for the long delay in responding Harry, - but I could not log on to the site.-- Regarding the problem, - I used a Lab Doctor OBD Tester and it diagnosed a PO 193 fault, which indicated a problem in the Injector Pressure Sensor circuit. -- High voltage, -- Fuel Rail pressure sensor high. - I took this result into the Agents, and 186 bucks later for the part, the problem was solved. A bit disappointed after the earlier 3000 bucks charge which did not work !! - But I could not be sure that the earlier repair was not also required. -- Anyhow, it has been fine ever since. Hope this helps, - Kind regards, Gordy.
