1st thing I'd like to do is to replace my stereo.
I don't have premium in my car nor DVD nor GPS neither PHONE, just the single CD player with Radio.

I've been thinking in buying at EBay the DVD-GPS-Phone console to peplace my unit. Not sure about this though.
I was told by a tech before that Jag order their speakers, amp, player with certains specifications that does not fit any other thing unless you replace the entire system....

What should I do since I'm not willing to use any aftermarket player.

 

replacing this unit is sorta a PITA in my opinion. I researched it and decided to just buy a car with the premium sound and gps in the beginning. With that being said, it can be done, but I would just like to throw in my two cents. The jaguar stock speakers are complete s***. I replaced them with the cheapest speakers I could find and they are 300% better than stock.

 

My advice would be sell the car & buy one with the GPS & Premium Sound, and Phone/Voice factory installed.

In saying that, one member on this board called Spielnicht has done both the GPS and Premium Sound retrofits recently.

The GPS retrofit has been done many times, but it's a very involved job and you need a custom made wiring loom. There is a guy in the UK who makes these looms, but TBH when you add up the cost for sourcing all the parts needed, it's very expensive, even with second hand parts.

The GPS/Touchscreen does not include Premium Sound, that is an extra.
I retrofitted the Premium Sound into mine, and again it needs a custom wiring loom.

It's a hell off a job...
