Default Problem with my 05 X-type 3.0L Auto

Just started happening about a week ago - I commute daily and recently discovered that when the engine is at highway speeds (90-110+km/hr) and the RPM is between 2000 & 2750 - the engine makes a loud howling whine (almost a rotational whine sound) and I get a nasty vibration in the steering column - this litteraly shakes the entire car - I can see my passenger seat vibrating. Its not a steering wobble from misalignment - and it only happens at highway speeds - before I hand it over to the fine people at Jaguar (which I am still under their warranty umbrella) I'd like to know what it might be - the gear changes have changed and the car seems to be low-ending it around 1500 rpm at lower speeds with a throatey sound to the engine - I am guessing its either the tranny or the prop shaft - the rotational sound might dictate a misaligned or loose shaft - just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. I am just over the 50,000km mark on the odometer and the car is only 2 months old to me.

Cheers,

S. Chapman
