Problems with new key from eBay

Programming with only one valid key
Please confirm if one new key can be added when I only have one valid key now. The thread said that in this case the existing key would be erased and reprogrammed. Is this correct? If yes, the procedure for programming the key is...... I want to ensure that I won't disable my existing key.
