Default Prospective x-type owner

Hello,

I'm thinking about buying a 2009 x-type 2.0 SE. I've been doing lots of reading and most reviews seem quite positive. I like the number of features that you get with these cars. I've also been looking at BMW 3 series, but they are really lacking when it comes to added extra's, like heated seats, leather interior, Bluetooth etc.

I've read that the x-type has been discontinued, does this mean that it will be difficult to get parts for them in a couple of years? The one's I've been looking at have between 20000 and 30000 miles on the clock, is there anything to look out for given this mileage and car age?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, get the car. The one you are looking at is going to be a long time runner since it is only RWD. As for parts, we are finding out that there are a lot of parts that will cross over to keep the car running. So, no need to worry about running out of parts for the vehicle. Not sure how the parts are where you are, but here in the US, we can get parts for just about anything out there that is 40 years old. So, get the car and drive around with a smile on your face. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the reply, they certainly look like great cars. I thought the 2.0 diesel was front wheel drive, am I wrong?

dave, it may be. We don't have the diesel variant over here in the US. I wish we did. So, you might be right.
