Default Purchasing X-Type 2.5L 5 Speed manual (things to look out)

Hi guys, I'm planning to get X-type 2.5L 5Speed in about a week or two. Anything that I should pay close attention to before buying it?

So far I already have already looked at one x-type. It is 2003 model and only 107,000 km on it. What are the things that I should really pay close attention to? How soon do I need to replace clutch? differential oil? transfer case oil? or any kind of maintenance? Thanks

I have an identical car. Things to look at...transfer case for any leaks or sounds, and sills and the area ahead of front doors for rust. Clutch and brakes are completely a function of PO driving style. If you buy it replacing all fluids (and battery) is a good idea.

Tony, where about in Canada are you? Did you DIY change for all the fluids?

Look for sounds coming from the divetrain when slowing down. I overlooked this and now my transfer case is on its last legs

I'm in Alberta.

DIY fluid changes are reasonably easy. I've done gearbox, TC (using a method I developed in 2006), antifreeze (not all), and power steering. Bled brakes and clutch. Haven't done rear diff since it looks good...but soon.

Do you have the DIY for the TC , gearbox etc? How's your Jaguar doing so far? Any major problem?
