Default Putting her on the chopping block

Unfortunately I do believe it is nearing the time to say goodbye to the X. [] IF you know of anyone that is going to be in the market for a flawless 2005 X-type lemme know.

Summer is coming and the Mercedes and Jag need to go to make room for the Porsche convertible.

I believe the payoff is $22k or so. Mileage is 56k. Interior and exterior are flawless, short of one single ding in the hood. 100% bone stock and dealer serviced it's entire life. You can find cheaper worn out examples, but let's be real....... you don't want a Jag you have to buy parts for. If this car isn't as close to showroom as it gets i'll lick the muffler and post it on youtube .

Just an FYI for a FUTURE sale. It's not on the block yet. I'll be doing an aggressive campaign more towards summer. [8D]

I'm not going anywhere. When fall comes I'll have to trade the Porsche in on another Jag. [8D] Lol, I still want an S-type so that will likely be my winter car this year.

EDIT: for those who do not know, Porsche, Land Rover, and Jaguar are all in the same dealership here in Chattanooga, TN. One big building they share.

When reading the title of this post I thought you were going to be doing some extensive work or something.

Good luck w/the Porsche.

BTW, your driver's floor mat is definitely NOT in showroom condition. We'll be eagerly expecting the youtube video soon.

Rest of the car looks great, though. Good luck w/the sale.

My 2005 was in showroom condition and had full service records with no problems, as confirmedby FJT. It had 17,400 miles on it and I paid $17,995 from the dealer, Texas Cars Direct, largest used Jag dealer in the US. Just FYI.

FYI what? I don't give a damn what they go for in Texas.

If someone wants my loaded 3.0 they're gonna pony up 22k on this side of the rock. Every car that has ever went under book has come out of Texas. They trade them across the mexico border dirt cheap. They're also more prone to failure due to the heat. Most will avoid a texas car if they don't live in texas. For people who live there it's all fine and dandy.... they can buy another one for the price of a pack of gum as soon as it crosses the border.

Ancient, that floor mat came with the car. That was the first thing I replaced. [8D]

Easy there One. Don't get personal.
Your payoff of 22k is way over what the car is worth. Even in mint condition it is worth $17k. Doesn't matter what state you live in.
Trading a car then trading again will put you so upside down in the cars that you will end up stuck in one for years. See it everyday. Better to paydown what you have or come up with the 5k difference between what it is worth and what you owe.

It isn't anything personal, I don't give a flip what cars in texas go for, and I'm sorry that you don't know what they go for around here. I live here man, I'd know. I'm not going to be upside down at all, and I will get every dime. I've lived here all my life, I know the area.

The best place to get your car priced out is www.kbb.com, it take account information such as car extras, mileage and location of the car.

I think when people approach your car , they will already have in mind how much the car goes for, so if they make an offer more along the lines of the kbb, i wouldn't be surprised.

Mine came from Michigan, it was off of a two year lease last October. TCD got it and sold it to a local guy who in turn traded it back in to them in January for a newer XJ. Decided they needed a bigger car. I don't think it has ever seen Mexico, sorry. Best of luck with your sell. I don't know anything about your car or your area, I was just giving you some comps for data.

Thanks for the link, I did not check Kelly or NADA when I got mine, I just looked at some of the local numbers and basically thought it was a good price for a good car from a reputable dealer of used Jags. But just for kicks I just ran the numbers with Kelly on a loaded 2005 Jag X-Type (not a sport or VDP edition and without DVD or 19" wheelsbut pretty much everythingelse) in both my zip code and in 37421 zip code(Chattanooga), using private seller numbers. With 17400 miles, the Kelly Blue Book was $20,505 in Chattanooga and $19,980 in Texas. With 56000 miles the number was $17,255 in Chattanooga and $16,730 in Texas. So there is about a $500 mark up in Chattanooga, and the extra 40000 miles cost you about three grand regardless of location. I think my $17,995 from an established dealer was a pretty good deal.

Plus I did get that discount card to Taco Bell thrown in with the deal!

and like I said, you don't have a clue what things go for around here. You can sit on the internet and act like you do all day long while I watch three of these being sold with higher miles for $21k in less than a month off the same lot I bought mine at, and it does help that I dated the GM's of the lot's daughter for 2 years and know good and well what they sold for.

Get off the internet and get in the real world and see that everything is regional. Hell it can change in just 50 miles. No book has ever been published, no webage has ever been written, that can tell anyone here what the community will pay in every region for a car. HERE people overpay out the *** for Jag, Benz, and BMW.
