Every time my gf drives her car, even less than 5 min down the road the rad cooling fans start going like crazy and after car is shut off the keep going for another few min.
I don't drive the car much, but this seems excessive and they sound like they are working really hard, loud.
Engine temp says normal, I popped the hood and it didn't even seem all that warm.

Any ideas??

Mike, its going to one of two things water pump or thermostat. Mine was the water pump. Got it changed and no problem. A year later, now my damn thermostat is going, so its the opposite no fans and overheating.

Did yours overheat?
This is running at normal temp...just fans are working hard.

Not until the pump was on last legs and leaking (losing coolant). The fans ran hard and stayed on for up to 10min after shutting the car off.

Immediately left of the battery, you'll see the belt and pulleys. A new pump can be had for about $80 or so at autozone and other auto parts stores.
