What year is that car?

the cd player changer doesn't recognize there is a magazine in there when you push cd it says no disc.....
Are you referring to the CD-changer (CDC) in the trunk, or the dash mounted, single-CD player (CD)? And is this a commercially manufactured disc, or a home-grown one?

and there is no sound to pass side of car.....
Have you tried adjusting the balance yet?

very annoying....ideas??
Speaking of annoying - stop using ellipses in your messages. (j/k - I really don't care.)

There are many. However, you're opening a can of worms here. The X-Type stereo uses fiber optics for both the control signals and the audio signals between the head unit, amplifier, CD-changer and any other audio accessories in the system. Replacing any component basically means replacing them all, and rewiring everything. You'd be wise to try to fix whatever is wrong with what you have before throwing money at the problem. The stock stereo, depending on the options in the car (or model year and standard equipment) can actually be a very good system.

also we have replaced alot of xtype door speakers. so it could just be blown speakers if you have already checked your balance settings and their not working.

yes Ive tried the fade and balance...nothing, I have an 02, and have the navi touch screen, The cd changer sounds likes its loading but still says no discs, everything else seems to work ok, cant figure it out, If it was just 1 speaker I could see it being a blown speaker, but its just the right side. Any other ideas??

we've had customer's come in with all four speakers blown. i now it seems odd but i would highly recommend checking out the 81 dollar speakers before i would condem the 1300 radio from jag. also i just checked out a random vin so please dont hold me to exact numbers.

ok so stupid question of the day - I have a 2002 2.5L X-Type with Premium sound system (I guess 10 speakers) no nav, cd changer (no cd magazine) and some speakers play some don't (i want to replace the actual big speakers and ignore the tweeters if possible)

if I unplug the factory stereo head unit and the cd changer and amp am I in theory DONE with the jaguar stereo system and can then install a after market?
