Default Ram air temperature

Hi everyone, this is my first post. Bought a 2004 X type in Jan. this year.

Sometimes I got warm or even hot air out and sometimes got air at ambient temperature when I turned off climate control and selected ram air. Anyone knows the reason for the weird thing? Thanks,

Ran

What's RAM air? Do you mean when you select straight vent? You might have an issue with the recirc flap, instead of getting fresh outside air directed in you are recirl inside air.

RAM AIR
"To select fresh air with the system off, touch the ram air button. The intake flap will open with air distribution to face level automatically selected."

"With the blower switched off, the fresh airflow results from the forward motion of vehicle (ram air mode)"

Quoted from 2-8 Climate Control of the book "Touch-screen display" with the car.

Thanks Sidewalkman, your analysis is reasonable since I found similar cases in other cars' forum and the replies are about the flap.

Typical British term. The rest of the world calls it a vent. I've read here that there is a fix for the flap.
