Rear entertainment Install help
Hi Guys,
Just got my rear entertainment system in today in the mail, and i was wondering if anyone knows a shortcut way to get the wire down the back part of the seat from the monitors? The instructions say that the seat is required to be removed, but just trying to see if it is necessary in case someone has another way to do it. If not, I guess I'll be takning the Seats out to do it. Is there anything I should know about taking the seats out of the car that may cause me to break or mess something up?
Thanks in advance.

i just got the wire to the bottom part of the seat, but was unable to get the wire out. Anyone have ideas of how to get the bottom portion of the seat open? I know there is a plastic clip (hook) type thing holding it together, but was unable to get it open. Just looked under the seat and saw that there are a lot of wires attached to the seat. dont want to have to take the seat out of the car if possible.

Thanks for the info Ian D. Thats exactly how i ended up getting it apart. Took a while but worked like a charm. I finally got the screens installed. once i put everything back together again, w/o checking to see if the unit works, ended up finding that the unit where the connectors are does not power on. the screens have power, but only stuck on the card reader screen as no power to the unit. No light showing on the unit either. Going to have to take everything a part again and see if any connectors got disconnected when putting back together. good waste of a couple hours :?. Hopefully its just an install error and not the part itself.

Gragner,
I got the one that was for ~$130. the link should be easier to find on the S-Type page as thats where I saw it. Ill see if i can find and try to post.
Update on the install: Finally got everything connected and working. After about a total of close to 3 to 4 hours, finally got it installed and working. If I had to do it again, im sure I could have the install done in about 45 mins.

I have the champagne interior in my car. The components are high quality, but the leather color is slightly clearer than on my car. I called them and they said it was most likely the result of aging of the leather.

The quality of the components are really good and my local dealer would do a complete install for $350. So $127 + $350 is a great price.
In the end, I didn't do the install only because the resolution of the screen is only 240p for a 7 inch screen. Compare that with an ipad that is 720p and you can slip an ipad into the rear pocket if you like. A 16 GB ipad version 1 can be had for $299, or for around $600 you can actually get a pretty compelling alternative to the fixed rear entertainment system. Remember you still have to hook up an ipod or a DVD player with this system...
Great looking set, but in my opinion time and technology has just passed it by...
