Default Rear sway bar end links, broken.

Replaced a broken end link (passenger side) a few months back. Same one broke today. Was pulling out of my driveway, heard a pop. What could cause this. I upgraded to the Moog parts. Any help much appreciated.

Is the one that just broke a Moog part? Where did it break? I replaced both links on my 2004 with 105k miles two months ago. The parts I removed were in good shape.

Strange you have brought this up, same thing just happened to me. I just replace mine with Moog's last month and a week ago I was pulling in my drive and I heard a loud bang from the rear. I looked under it and the passenger side end link had busted. The ball and socket of the link had pulled completely apart. I called MOOG and of course they stated they had not heard of this before and for me to warranty it through who I purchased it through. Now it has to be special ordered again.

Yes was a Moog, bought through rockauto. Thought I had upgraded not so sure now.Had to buy a second one to receive a refund for the first. The second broke with in a month. Broke exactly the same way. Thinking I'm installing incorrectLy or I have other worn parts causing the premature failure. The ball joint pulls apart. Any thoughts?

Chris, I don't think you're installing them incorrectly as they'll go on only one way. How's condition of your sway bushings? Rear springs and shocks OK? I've got same year car and mileage oddly enough. I replaced the bushings along with links, and also the lower forward control arms. The right lower control arm was the culprit causing the clunking sound I was hearing; for me when there's both right and left side pieces I always replace both sides.

I have had to warranty 2 moog rear end links so far, and I have new bushing and new shocks on the rear. The end links keep pulling apart. I spoke to moog, and they informed me if it happens again they want to do a quality alert, so if you are having the same problem please contact moog, that way they can look into making them better, and we would not have these issues.

Thanks for the help. Going to contact Moog and see what happens. Keep you all in the loop. First time I replaced, I bought a kit off eBay. Came with bushings and both links. Had the drivers side break the rod that holds the two heads together. That's when I replaced with the Moog parts. So I've replaced the passenger three times. Also have replaced both inner, lower and upper control arms. Plan on replacing shocks and struts. Thanks again everyone.
