Default Putting an automatic in neutral (manually)

2004 sportwagon is stuck in park, and I want to get it towed. I can't seem to find a video online of how to do this after removing the battery. I have read some threads, maybe I'm missing something. I have only done this on cars from the 50's-70's and just don't want to cause a more expensive problems. Anything steering me in the right direction would be appreciated.

I've never had to try it but, this is what the workshop manual has to say.

as clyons mentioned, top left hand side of the gear selector there is what seems to be a little cover that you can take off with your nail (or flat head).

should be easy to do
