Hello all,

I am replacing my 2003 x-type's fuel pump. I am going to drop the gas tank, and have been following the excellent guide that Paulc732 posted https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...al-how-143763/

I have gotten to the point of removing the exhaust, and I removed the 15mm bolt from the clamp near the diff.

The bolt itself is stuck on it, but the clamp has loosened. I am not sure exactly what to do from here. The guide says to heat up the pipe and then knock it loose.

If I do that, will it go back together?

 

It's funny how you can read something a few times and still not get it.

I understand now that the exhaust pipe fits into itself, which is why there is a clamp to hold them together.

I have not done it yet, but at least I understand why I am knocking them loose.
