Replacing upper gaskets tool question
Hello, I just purchased a 2003 x type 3.0. Like the car a lot. It has a vacuum leak on the upper intake so I figured why not do upper, lower, valve covers and plugs while in there.
My question is: Are there any special sized tools to make life easier. For instance working on my old Fiat requires very short 10mm and 17mm open ended wrenches to make life easier.
I have lots of 1/4 drive sockets but no deep well 1/4" - that was my first thought for those hidden bolts in the back.

jzbrown, nope standard tools. Now, I will admit that having a set of sockets and wrenches available will make things easier as some of the bolts are best reached by a wrench vice a socket (ie, the 2 bolts on the backside of the intake that hold the wiring harness in place). But, for the most part, as you peel things apart, the bolts are pretty easy to access.
One tidbit of info though to help you out. When moving the intake around, do not undo the coolant hoses going to the throttle body. Simply swing the intake out of the way so you have room to work. There is enough extra in the hoses that you can do this. Saves a lot of time as the intake can be rotated to be over the brake booster area.
