Default Resetting the eml

Hi I read somewhere you can reset the eml via the touch screen on x types, but couldn't find any details, if this is correct does anyone know how to do it as mine popped during a dpf regen but hasn't gone out since the cycle completed

Brian, there is no means to reset the engine computer from a screen inside the car. There are some options if you want to reset it from your phone (requires the purchase of an "ELM 327" unit or similar device).

Before you reset things, I would get the codes read to see what the computer is not liking. It is possible there is a problem with the car. The code will lead you towards where the issue is for the CEL being on. If in doubt, post the code here and we can help you narrow down where your potential problem lies.

+1

Also, if you fix the actual fault the MIL (proper name) will go off. No need to clear the codes at all.

Be wary of ignoring codes. Can often result in bigger bills.

Love the MIL (proper name) jab. Different parts of the world call it different things...CEL, EML, MIL, EWL. Same thing and we all know it.

Thanks guys reading codes later today, when obd reader turns up from Amazon! You have to love prime. Hopefully it's nothing expensive as she is running perfectly no odd noises stutters or drop in performance
