So I need to find out what the reverse wire is at the front of the car so I can tap into this for my reverse camera. The radio I bought has a connection for the reverse wire, I really didn't want to run it from the rear light all the way back up to the front if there is one already there.

I have the camera hooked into the reverse light at the rear, but the radio requires also requires a reverse power signal...

Green wire with a yellow trace coming off the top of the transmission.

No reason not to send it back from the camera, since you are sending the video back up anyway.

 

most reversing cameras have a trigger wire attached to them, usually poking out of the yellow video cable. I connected mine to the green/black wire in the reverse sensor module in the boot(trunk)

 

Thanks euanT... Yes mine has to be hooked up to the reverse wire in 2 places, one at the head, and the other at the camera... I got the camera turning on and off, but for some reason my radio also wants input to this reverse wire... I can't really think of why they made it that way... I think I might run it from the back all the way up just because I didn't want to cut that wire at the transmission... By transmission you mean right at the gear box right?




In the back it seems to be the green black, at the transmission box you say its a green yellow?

The green/Black is the power wire on the reversing sensor module in the trunk!! The yellow plug you see in the picture is the COMPOSITE video wire from the reverse camera. The long cable to connect this to the head unit sometimes has a red trigger wire poking out from it, and that connects to the Green/Black wire at the rear and the front end into your head unit!! The red plug is the camera power wires, red to the same Green/Black wire, black to earth. Here is an example ;-
