Default Security Failure?

Last night, after leaving my car at the airport for 4 days, I went to start it and the red light on the console was flashing, the message 'SECURITY FAILURE' was showing, and it would only click. Kinda like when you have a flat battery. After pulling the key and trying again all was good. What happened? And will it start happening again?

flyrr, based on what you are saying, it sounds like you might not have rolled the key quite far enough and this caused the key to not pass the security numbers through the key to the computer. Keep an eye on things. If you start having more issues, then you may end up having to replace the tumbler/ignition switch contact block at some point.
