Unhappy Sensor code 1647 replace

Hello all,

after doing the tune up on my wife's 2002 x type 3.0 back in April last. Everything running good but yesterday the wife came in and said the oil light was on. OK so I go out and check the oil and it was a quart low ( it has a constant small leak I have not been able to find or fix.)

Anyhow I start the car and the oil light is not the one on it is the engine light!

After checking with OBD2 I get the code 1647 so have ordered the sensor from Amazon Denso #234-9029 should have in the next couple of days.

Sure wish I had changed it when I had the engine all torn apart! Hope this fixies the problem!??

I will post back after I have finished.

Gee

If it's P1647, that's indeed annoying but new sensor normally fixes it.

BTW there are other 1647 codes so I hope you did mean a P code.

Yes I did mean the P-1647 code.

Need some help now! Have car apart including battery out and pretty good shot at the o2 sensor BUT not budging even with a breaker bar!! Just sprayed on some PBBlaster hopping that will get it to give!
Any suggestions on this would be appreciated! I really don't want to lean on the breaker bar to much and break the o2 sensor that is in there!!

Please help!

Let is soak for awhile with the PB. If that doesn't release get out a propane torch and heat the area around the sensor and then try to remove. Usually soaking good with penetrate and waiting for it to work solves the removal problem but the heat wrench always works.

If you can apply some force and leave it on for a while it may free up if you walk away for a while. (I suggest a car jack, just gently, and give it an hour or two.)

Thanks guys! Got it lose last night after the PB blaster and put it all back together this morning.
she is running great now! Having the wife write down when she gets gas. Was getting better than 20 mpg after tune up, interested to see if this does anything?
