02 X Type 3.0
I have a shake in my car when I am driving. If I drive slow it's not so noticable but when I reach around 70 then you can see it in the searing wheel. Any ideas?

 

Jagm, I get this situation periodically with my car. Get the alignment checked on the car. Odds are, you will find that the toe to the front wheels is off by about 0.1 degrees.

 

Alignment and wheel balance are the first things to look at. If those check out, brake system being out of adjustment on the front end could also lead to some shaking in the steering wheel, possibly. If that's all good, only other thing I could think of would be the engine/transmission mount being loose. Or a lugnut or two being loose (but when torqued correctly, how often does that happen)

If you have a manual x though, it would be a little easier to diagnose a loose engine mount. 4th gear at 70mph is around 3500-4000 rpms. In 5th gear, its only around ~2700.

Chances are its only an alignment or a wheel balance issue. Before you even go to a shop check the inside of your rim to make sure that all your wheel weights are there. If you see a lot of glue residue, then your wheel weights aren't where they should be.
