Default Short Throw Shifter Idea...

So after looking at different websites I noticed that these cars; Ford focus, contour, mondeo; are very similar, and I wanted to know if anyone has ever thought about getting a short throw kit made for these cars and putting it in an x-type. I don't know which model (or if any at all) would have the same shifter as the x-type. I'm not very good with mechanical stuff and this is probably not possible but it's just an idea. Here are some links.

tkd, with enough machining and fabricating, you can make just about anything work. The question is, do you have the ability to do the necessary work? I would say for what it costs, buy it and see what happens. Just make sure not to cut too much stuff in case you need to go backwards.

You'd probably be better off trying to get one for a Mk3 ford Mondeo (UK car). That is the car the X-type is based around, just has a different body on it.
