Default Simple Headlight questions

New to me 07 that I’m chasing down headlight issues… Just replaced the adjustment gears/mounts that were ALL broken. The bouncing caused nothing to work right, I have the HID lights. Waiting on a new box for one side and both of the dip/low beam should work. Both high beams work. I’m not sure how the other two bulbs are supposed to work??? The outside orange bulb works with the turn signals but that’s it. It’s a dual filament bulb but only has two wires. There is a small clear bulb in the high beam unit that I’m not sure ever comes on. In the US I’m used to the 1st position of the headlight switch turning on a dim front facing orange light. On this car I get the tail, F&R sides, but nothing in the headlights. Can someone explain how/when bulbs in the headlights are supposed to work? Also, one of each interior headlight mounts appears to have a motorized adjustment. How is this operated?

I was super confused too at first when I got my 2005 Sportwagon. For a halogen US car (and highly doubt this different with HIDs) the front parking lights are white instead of amber. They are those dim white bulbs inside the high beam. I thought front parking lights in the US had to be amber but I looked it up and that is traditional but not actually required by law. The orange bulbs inside the headlights are turn signal/hazards only. Jaguar has something of a habit of only using 1 filament of a 2 filament bulb...

This is with the parking lights and the front fog lights on. (US 2005)

Thanks! Now I’ll have to see why mine are not turning on…

Just to close this, both the little “parking” bulbs were burned out. I replaced them with amber leds instead of white. I like it!

Please let us know exactly which LED bulbs you used and how they turned out. I’ve been told these cars don’t like the different resistance of the LED bulb and can flicker. A pic or two would be nice, too.

I used these in amber (come in different colors)
Amazon Amazon
No flicker. Thought they might not be bright enough but they are plenty.
The camera doesn’t show it well, but they are very orange like typical US parking lights.
