Default Small but Potentially Big Problem

Hello everyone, I recently took my car to the mechanic because the engine would stutter when the RPMs went above 2000-3000 and the check engine light came on. He reset the check engine light and told me there were no serious errors and told me to keep driving till it happens again. I'm worried for my transmission because this is the second time it has happened. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas what can be making the RPMs stutter?

He checked and there were 3 error codes, 2 of them were Fuel Trim too Lean (Bank 1) and Bank 2, I don't remember the other one.

Next time get a print-out or write them down if you want more info from this forum. There are HUNDREDS of DTCs that can cause all sorts of faults.
We can guess that 2 were P0171 and P0174 but............

...you are experiencing limp home mode and likely have vacuum leaks at both IMT valves (P0171 and P0174). Do a bit of search in the X-Type section. It's likely one or more of the three known vacuum leaks.

You both are correct on the fault codes, those were it. I think the last one was p1000 My mechanic told me to wait it out, what would you do in my position to avoid a bigger problem?
Any experienced advice gentleman?

mohrd I read a few things you had said about IMT Valves, Brake boost hose and PVC hose.
I'm posting this just in case anyone has more experience or can help me rule a few things out. Thanks again

P1000 code is normal and means the monitors have not completed their drive cycles since the check engine light was reset, drive it around for 50 miles or so then recheck the codes, the P1000 should change to a P1111 when the drives cycles have been completed.

The big three! All pretty easy to check to see if they have already been replaced. Unbolt the top IMT valve if the o-ring is "green", that's done. Brake boost, if the check valve is covered in it's own "shrink wrap", that's done. PCV hose, if it's "ribbed", that's done. Any of those not done, on an '02, it's amazing they've gone this far. Luckily all simple DIY fixes.

My car makes a hissing sound from under the hood. Now that I saw a picture of what the IMT valve looks like, I'm almost 100 percent sure its coming from there.
Hopefully this is the only leak and it wont cost too much.
Thank You!
