Default Spark plug change

Morning, looking do the usual tune up this weekend: IMT-oring, spark plugs, coils, etc. However for the life of me I can not figure out what socket attachment measure to fit around the spark plugs. I have read post and watched videos but no-one mention what measurement they are using. I have 6 Autolite Dbl Platinum I need to install.

What socket attachment did you use to get the job done? Thank you in advance.

tsimms, the spark plug socket is the standard 5/8" socket as I recall. It might be the 11/16" socket.

Tsimms7, I have 87k on the odometer so looking to change the spark plugs soon. How long did the job take you? Mind sharing a list of items to change while going in? Thanks.

Xerxes, changing out the plugs is pretty straight forward. The back 3 are the PITA, but even still, not that bad as long as you are patient.

As for time, plan on 3 hours. After you have done it a few times, you can be down to 90 minutes or so.

As for parts, really all that you need is the 6 plugs. Some will recommend since that you are in there, you should replace the upper plenum gaskets (6 o-rings). For the $20, probably not a bad idea, but not required. This would also be a good time to do the PCV valve if you haven't done that in the last 25K miles as you will be right there with everything removed for easy access.

The hardest part of this job is getting at the 2 bolts on the backside of the intake. There are two 10mm bolts that hold a wiring harness to the back of the intake. The only other "gotcha" piece is the bolt that is under the throttlebody. Easy to get to, but not out in the open. This is also a 10mm bolt.

If you need more details, let me know. I can practically do this in my sleep I have done it enough times.
