Starter motor replacement - I need some Help!!
I have a 2003 Jaguar X- Type. I replaced the starter because the gear was gone in the starter. After installing the starter the car still wouldn't crank. The motor will turn over but it will just not catch. So I took the battery to advance auto and the battery was dead. They charge the battery for me. They also test the battery and the battery is good. So I reinstall the battery and the car still will not crank. My battery light is staying on. There is this clicking noise. Now I see there is a wire that is part of the positive cable for the battery that isn't connected but I can't tell where it goes. This is also the same thing for the starter. Its a wire that I can not figure out where it should be connected to. Can someone please help me with this issue?

Hey Rowland - have you checked the How to thread at the top of the Xtype forum??? Hopefully one of the techs will be along shortly to assist. In the interim
Here is the direct link to the how to's and then a link to the electrical guides - hope these help.

rowland, what color is the wire? If you can, take a picture of the wires in question so we can try and get a better idea of what you are talking about. With the picture, we should be able to identify the wires in question and get you back to 100%.
