I have been having an odd vibration and whining in the front end, I was hoping you guys would be able to help me diagnose.

It happens at any speed, but is louder/harsher as speed increases. That part is normal, but this is the odd part. It happens when I am driving straight, and when turning left, but as soon as I turn even slightly to the right, the vibration disappears, and the noise is gone.

Any ideas?

 

Sounds like a wheel bearing. Best to replace both of them because if one is going the other probably won't be far behind.

 

OK, that makes sense. I see how that noise could go away if pressure is applied differently, like when turning right.

 

Who has good recommendations for wheel bearings? What brand have you had luck with?
