They have stripped bolt kits, they are special drill bits that drill into the bolt. I broke a spark plug once and had get a set, it was like $10 I think and did the trick. Not sure if that would fix your problem but if it's stripped it should be able to help you get it out of there.

Yeah speaking of spark plug..one of mine is stuck
The part that turns to get the plug out is just spinning and the plug isn't coming out so where can I get that kit?

I believe I found mine at home depot... It was a little set of about 5 drill bits for removing stripped bolts. Wasn't very expensive.

How can I get the spark plug out if the part that the socket grabs is just spinning?

The guy at the auto store told me it's probably stripped. Would I need to get a thread repair? Or is there a way to get the plug out.

Anyone ever run into this issue? Spark plug is stuck and the part the socket attaches to is spinning and plug not going anywhere. How can I get that out.

Do you actually have stripped threads on the plug or head or have you just rounded the corners of the hex on the plug?

No the hex parts of the plug are not rounded off but it's just spinning and I used a screw driver and could see the hex part of the spark plug turn without the actual back of the spark plug move. So I'm thinking that park broke and it's just spinning around the spark plug..itself it's not going in or out..just the hex part is turning..without anything happening.

Try to find a thread repair guy, maybe a mobile service that specialises in extracting broken bolts.

I had a similar drama with the XJR https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...warned-105468/

If I hadn't got that thread repair guy to come out, it would have cost $$$$'s and the car would have been in bits for days/weeks...

Oh wow so it's probably cross threaded ? Or stripped? Crap...so I shouldn't try and pull it out if I do that I probably won't get the new one in ? And it probably won't start then

The way you describe it, the threaded part of the sparkplug is still in the head, but the hex is turning?

If the metal part of the plug has broken, somewhere between the hex and the threads, then it's not coming out without some expertise & special tools.

If the threads in the head have completely stripped, then you should be able to pull the plug straight out.

Either way, you're gonna need professional assistance!

Default Spark plug stripped

Can you get a "mobile welder" to stop by and spot weld it together or weld on an attachment for pliers etc !
