Default stuttering engine

Hi noticed got abit of a stuttering engine when pulling away I read a couple off posts on here and thought it might be the rubber o rings on the inlet manifold
Phoned up jaguars in hat field
They said that a common fault with v6 is a rubber hose that runs across the top its prone to perishing
Has anyone had this same problem
Cheers lee

Yes, take off the protective plastic plate and on the right side on the top you'll see a hose that runs from the front of your engine to the intake manifold. My car at one point in time used to stutter and lack of power and I found about a 5inch cut/cracked hose and it opened up and the air would escape and the engine lost air intake from that hole. Check that first.

Make sure you have the PV hose that has the reinforced ribbing on it. Check all you vacuum hose. You'll need to change out the o-ring gaskets upper and lower on the manifold and below the fuel rail, if these don't fix your issue.

Hi people right took the cover off and see the pipe it still had the origanal solid plastic pipe and looks like some one has done this before they have cut and put a piece off pipe between the end off the soilid plastic one and the l shape end but on inspection the rubber pipe is way to big for other pipe and was lose so cleaned and tightened best I could and will see what happens will order new one though
With regards to the 2 rubber rings on top mine is the 2.1 v6 is it the 2 black round things on left and right on top

The best thing to do to check it is just accelerate really quick and see if you get a sputter if not then you're more than likely good to go.

Ok took out for a drive and still stuttering same if not little worse
Its not losing power or stalling
Ticks over perfect no fluctuation
Just stuttering when accelerating and engine management light is on
What the best way to clean out throttle body
And i think I'll change air filter

Sounds like air is escaping from a vaccume line and the engine isn't getting the right amount of air Intake..when you accelerate your engine is pulling in air and when it doesn't get the air required on acceleration it's going to sputter. What you can do is open the hood have someone start the car and once you shut it off listen for any hissing sound under the hood the lines will release the air pressure if there's a hole you may be able to hear the air escaping. I would replace that hose that doesn't fit right air can squeeze through any little crack. If its not the lines then I would see maybe the fuel filter.

1- GET THE CODES
does your car sputter on idle or at WOT(wide open throttle) or both?
it sound like your engine is running lean codes P0171/0174
lean conditions differs from each other depending on the RPM
if your engine is lean at idle but not at WOT most likely is a vaccum leak like you've been told already, but if it is not lean at idle but it is at WOT most likely go ahead an search for low fuel pressure issues, if it's lean during both condition your problem is even worst since you may even have an exhaust leak before the cat converter wich may mean a clogged cat which are very expensive to fix and most likely you really need to fix the reasons for the cat to go bad before replace it.
Good luck!
