Default Sunroof RE-Opens by itself

02 x-type
when using the auto close feature the sunroof will close and when it gets about 2inches from being shut it bounces back and re-opens.

i can close the sunroof by inching it all the way closed...but that is annoying.
any ideas? anyone have this problem before?

i have tried to re program the switch but seeing that holding the switch makes it bounce back open its not possible to puch hold to close and push hold to open.....

thanks

Mike, looking at the principles of operation for the sunroof, there are position switches that allow the sunroof to know that it is nearing the full close/open positions, allowing the motor to "coast down" and softly close the glass. It may be possible that it is not sensing this and is therefore assuming there is a problem. Also, the motor will only operate for 12 seconds. So, if your glass is sliding slowly, it may be seeing the glass as having an issue and is therefore returning to a known "good" position. Unfortunately, the JTIS doesn't go into much more detail than that.

Mine sunroof does the same thing and it will not go into the tilt position. I am thinking it has to so with something broke on the track. How do you get to the track to see if that is the case?

Mine does it but the depressor clips for the wind guard are broken that's why mine backs out when I try to close it and unfortunately you for some reason have to buy the entire assembly...which is rediculous
