Default Swirl Marks

I bought some of that Meguiar's Scratch X stuff today and applied it to the numerous areas of swirl scratches on my car. While it didn't fix the problem completely, it was noticably improved. I did this all in my garage, so I guess the true test will be seeing how it appears in the sunlight tomorrow.

In sum, whoever owned the car before likely didn't care...there are swirls all over it. If I can escape taking the car to a professional by buying that Meguiar's stuff for under $10, I'll be very impressed.

i have a few that need to be taken care of too. it seems everytime i park in the street i come back to a new on on my bumper. I'll probably start at the dealer w/ some touch up paing for the big ones. But i heard good things about the Mothers scratch remover for the little ones like key/ring marks on door handles etc..

Man, the biggest argument with my wifey since we've been together is that I park all the way in the rear of the parking lot where the other people that don't care about walking as much as they car about their car! Most of the time their isn't even a soul around my car. My wife hates it, but I can't stand to work so hard for my **** so some dumbass in a rush can scratch my ****!!

Yeah I hear you there! I like to wait for people to do stuff! The worst part about that is that as soon as you park 15 spots away from a soul you come back out of the store or wherever and you now cant find your car as you are now surrounded!

YEAH!!! I always leave my car all by itself, and people want to come and give it company! WTF? My car likes meditating by itself, not with a bunch of old beat down *****!

Have you noticed though, that no matter how crappy or nice your car is if you park it in the middle of the parking lot where no car is within throwing distance and when you come back out you can't find your car!

Nope, that never happened with my 240! If I left it by itself, she would stay by herself, but the damn jag is a magnet for dings and dents.

Do you guys wax your Jag or get it professionally detailed. I am very meticulous, so i want it perfect.

What brand of wax do you guys recommend that will get rid of minor superficial scrathces along with swirl marks? Zymol???

Scratch doctor was really good to get some scratches out for me! I use turtle wax to wax my car, and I let NO ONE detail my car as they always leave wax within the crevices in between the door handles and the head lights and other things!

Yeah I hate that wax crap allover. I bought my escape about 2 years ago now this August and theres still wax on my plastic! Have some on some black plastic (by the mirrors) on the jag and haven't a clue how to get rid of! I like turtle wax but the scratch doctor is supposed to be good for swirls and small surface scratches as biggie said! Last year I bought this ultra expensive meguiars wax for my crotch rocket worked quite well and smells good, its more like a bar of soap though...

Wax on the black plastic near the mirrors?.........What does it look like Aquill?
The reason I ask, is that there's a product over here ( can't remember the name) but its used specially for faded bumpers that kind of thing. Its like a black liquid shoe polish in a bottle. Apply liberally, leave for a qhile and then wipe off excess.........do this 2- 3 times and all your black plastic will be like new!
I used it on my daughters 9 year old run around........all the bumpers were old, tired n faded.............They looked like new bumpers on an old car by the time I had finished...........lol

The plastic looks good its just that somebody got white wax on the coarse plastic on my escape and on my jag where the black plastic is on the mirrors. I'm thinking i'll get some goo-b-gone or something and see what it does.
