I've been all over the internet trying to figure out how to sync my iphone to this car and I'm starting to believe the buttons on the radio or just there for show.

Does anyone have any insight on how to make this work, if it's even possible.

You could try looking in the X type forum stickies for the handbook download, it may be of some help.

 

there was no such thing as syncing in 2002. The controls are for an on-board analog phone that would carry a stand-alone service line (it's own phone number). It would be a totally seperate phone from your cell. so, to answer your question 1. You cannot sync your phone to your car and 2. (because it is an obsolete analog-system in the car) yes, the buttons are just there just for show.

Some the later cars had bluetooth fitted, but such witchcraft was not available in the early years.

 

do you no if your wired for phone connection you need the btum ,the phone module etc .mine wasnt so i retrofitted it in now my samsung galaxy 5 works flawlessly,as soon as i get in the car it picks up my galaxy s5
