Default Tailgate window, rear wiper and closing the car

Hey guys!

I just entered the Jaguar world with my first X-Type Estate from 2004.
It really is a nugget, very well engine wise but the previous owner did not care all too much about cosmetics and stuff.

So here are my Maine problems that I think they might be related to one and each other and I am thankful for hints.

1.: Tailgate Window does not open. Owner said he had the window switched and since then it's shut.
I located a little connector that wasn't connected and found it's counterpart, but that did nothing.

2.: The wiper isn't working as well... so maybe the problem is electrical and something isn't connected properly?

3.: The car is not closing with a push on a button. The car horn sounds twice and nothing else happens. When I close it manually it also activates the horn.
As far as I already dived into it it could be that the car still thinks the key is in the ignition, so I gave it some WD40...didn't help. And the horn appears because something seems to be open...which isn't...maybe the tailgate? (I don't have the computer so the car does not tell if anything specific is open or not)

Any hints how I can find my way to solving the problems?Thx

Your double horn-honk on arming the security system is likely connected to the rear window situation and, as you suggested, an electrical issue. I get the same double-honk if I try to lock the car with either the tailgate or the rear window not fully closed (also any of the doors or hood). You might want to get the electrical diagram (available on this site), check out the associated fuses and go from there into the wiring connections.

Also, when you try and lock the car and get that double beep, go and try and open each door to see if it is locked. Not uncomon for the door locks to stick in these cars. If you can verify that each door is physically locked and you still get that double beep than as mentioned, chances are it is related to the tailgate issue. If it was something like the bonnet not being latched you would get a message stating it was open.

Thats basically what I'll do tomorrow. Also I'll possibly disassemble the whole boot door and measure if anything comes up...

That's a great hint! Will do!
Unfortunately I don't get any messages as I don't have the onboard computer... or is there any other source?

If you don't have the onboard message center, I don't know if there is another way you might get notified, like a light or audible warning. Not very familiar with that. Maybe check the owner's manual.

UPDATE:

All right, some things are sorted.

Rear wiper: It somewhat works....haven't found out how it actually works, but it went on. Check
Closing via key fob: Guess what, the bonnet sensor wasn't connected... that's it. Unfortunately I found that out AFTER I tested everything in the GEM...lesson learned.
Tailgate window: The switch and/or cable is broken. I'll repair this another time. Sourcing a replacement isn't all too easy over here.

Thank you all!
