TC fluid change.....success?
Hi, I have an 02 X with 84K miles. I changed the TC oil today. I got about 50ml out of it by just draining. I got about 400ml back into it and sealed her up. So, with the approximately 200 that should have been left in it I should be good, right? I'm just going to run it a couple of days and change it again to dilute the 200 that was in the case. I'm I thinking correctly here? I read as many of the posts as I could, and I think I'm good. I don't have the wrong idea, do I? Thanks BTW, the stuff that came out wasn't that bad, there just wasn't that much of it.
Might have only had 50ml in it, you never know. But with what you added you're fine, and your logic is correct, run a week or so then do it again. Do the rear differential at the same time, it uses the same fluid. Bit of a chore since the fill bolt is a bit tough to get to.
Sounds good. I might have misunderstood something in regards to the 200ml. It sounded like there should be room for about 200 below the drain, but I see your point. It might have had 50ml of fluid and the rest is goo. Thanks for the response. BTW, I love the picture of your Estate. That's what I wanted, but just had a tough time finding one that someone had cared for properly.
