Tech Help-ACM
The head unit in my X has a nasty habit of not powering on due to (i think) a kinked spot in the fiber. Every few months, I have to move the ashtray and push the fiber wire back where the head unit will power up.
After several months of working all of the time, it happened again yesterday and actually came back on by itself rather than me having to jiggle the wire.. Everything is fine, except, it doesn't see my ipod anymore. It has done this literally, 50 times and everything always comes back up.
I looked at the ACM itself, nothing seems loose. The ipod is still drawing power, the Jag logo comes up, so it is connected. Sorting through "Mode", it will not select ipod to play it.
Seeing is how the nearest dealer is four hours away, is this mechanical or will it have to be re-flashed? Could it be a fuse? I wonder as everything else..radio...CD...is working properly.
Thanks

check the acm harness, the one that powers up the acm its a "T" harness then uses an adapter that goes between the radio and the harness for the radio, seen this harness fail in the past,if you need a new one i may have one handy
