I just bought a 2003 2.5 X-Type with 151,000 miles on it. It runs great, shifts great, brakes great, rides great, etc. I'd like to keep it that way, so have started the quest to replace parts that are likely to blow up, basically at any time.

Right now the machine sits, un-driven, till I can replace everything before the summer hits.

First up, cooling system hoses, the coolant reservoir, and the water pump. Reservoir and water pump are easy to figure out, in terms of what to get, but the hoses, less clear. Some of the hoses under my hood are bulging (just about to blow but haven't yet) and also collapse when the engine is cool, as they are quite soft and worn.

I've read that some aftermarket hoses also collapse due to poor build, but the OEM hoses are kinda spendy.

Have you guys successfully replaced all of your cooling system hoses with quality aftermarket solutions? I'd love an easy way to order all of them and be done with it.
