Hey everyone,

I was wondering has anyone put lowering spring on their x-type. I am thinking about putting some in. For people that have put them in, how is the ride?

I am also thinking about putting some exhaust on to make it sound more European than an average for durtec v6. Any suggestions?

Hey, those are the two mods I am wanting to do to my car too. The lowering springs only lower it 1.5 inches, the same height as the sport model, so you should be fine. It will probably be a little stiffer and lower to the ground, but it's not a drastic lowering. As for the exhaust, if you want to get a particular exhaust made for x-types, I would go with Mina or Adamesh, they have bolt on mufflers that fit perfectly and sound good. If you want something good for a little less, most people recommend the magnaflow straight through mufflers for the rear, they are about the same size as the stock mufflers and run about $85 a piece online, plus installation and tips. They will sound beefier but aren't annoyingly loud when you're on the freeway.

 

Best advice I can give you is to do a search on here. Both of the things you talked about have been done by a lot of people and there are plenty of threads on both.
