Dude, the new 05 x type 3L rocks! Worth every penny I spent on her....well not every penny but wish she was maybe a bit cheaper and should have bought the 19 inch rims and the hyper torque arm assembly with dual coil mag with flux capacitor......

When I hit 88 mph she sings to me like a pretty redhead up on stage with vocals so soft and sexy I just melt in her warm heated lap as she gently rubs my throbbing..................

Sorry got carried away.......can you tell how much I love her!

Yes, it can get expensive, especially for an all wheel drive transmission. It's like any car, it will cost you nowadays for labor, at 90 dollrs and hour, changing the spark plugs will be an expensive task!....Get the 05, if your budget allows you. You won't regret it....

I was a bit nervous in the being and reading bad post doesn???t help. Go with what your gut tells ya!

ORIGINAL: macsimize

Got one with 13k miles and warranty to 6 years/100k miles. I won't keep it that long even though it is better than my 2001 Audi.

I would skip the 2002 & 2003 at this point because the extended warranty won't last too long based on time.

And remember, every manufacturer can build a crappy car.
how very true....

My thoughts are this, you can buy any sensible car under 20K. There's the Saturn???s, fords and a few others lesser cheaper cars that offer a better warranty like the new Hyundai's that have a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. All good cars, they just don't have any sex appeal. The Hyundai will get you to the same place as a Jaguar, but you'll never be the talk of the town in a Hyundai.

People will say, Hey look at Jim ol boy there, he's so sensible and bought a boring Hyundai with a great warranty and he's so lucky.......front wheel drive, under powered, and just nothing to it, yeah ol Jim sure is smart with his money.

Then there's the Jaguar seen, Hey look at ol Mike there he's drive a Jag...wow, he must have hit the lottery or something.....dude, that car is sweet......dude you rock! The X-type! Wow, is that like a secret car or something......??? Not to mention the 230hp v-6 3.0L 5 speed auto trans, all wheel drive, power everything, moon roof, leather seats, fantasic handling and ride control and the great sex appeal the car has with woman! WOW! All the the girls want a ride in your Jag.....can't count the time girls at work that normally don't talk to me all of a suddenly want a ride in one......won't get that out of a Hyundai.....my secert is that it was only 10k more than the Hyundai. You got the cash, you spend it wisly.....just like i did! Oh and say hello to Debbi here boys....met her last night.....and my jag took her home to my place...she left her boyfriend who was driving that other piece of junk...oh what was the name of that car......oh yeah a BMW.

I'll take my chances on higher repair bills after my 5 year warranty expires on the jag. Hell by then, I???ll be in 2009 jag!!

It's all cool. I don't have a problem with your opinion, everyone has one. They are as common as the hole in the ***. Your caps bother me though.

Still Happy with my Jag.
