Throttle position sensor probs
#21
I had that same issue for almost 2 years and I bought a used throttle body with throttle position sensor from eBay from a seller from England, it was only $115 with shipping included, I cleaned the throttle body with throttle cleaner and installed it myself and took me exactly 2 hours. Now a tricky way to prevent the limp mode is that you always keep the foot on the gas, even if you come to a full stop keep the RPMs at 800-1000 all the time and if you are coming to a full stop you should press the brakes and gas at the same time. Also to prevent that issue when turning on the car you need to leave the key on position 2 until the red and yellow lights clear and than you can turn it on. Hope that helps

Throttle position sensor
I am losing my mind trying to find a throttle position sensor for my 04 xj8. There are plenty of options for the 03 models but none for the 04. My car was manufactured in latter part of 03, will an 03 sensor work? Trying to avoid buying the entire throttle body. Thanks
