Default Transfer case Oil replacement

Just completed doing the transfer case oil replacement today. It went quite well . A thank you to the guys who posted a list of the Parts needed to complete it from the Home-depot Theyworked like a charm.
Well imagination my surprise when i took out the drain plug and only 50ml or so of Fluid came out !!! It was not a bad color and was not burnt and did not smell bad.
This is on a 2004 2.5 manual5 speed with 77,000 miles on her.
No leaks and no growls or whines coming from theT/C .Prior to filling it up.I used Royal purple 75/140 gear oil and put in 400ml as stated by other people who have done it before. So much for it being sealed for life i wonder where my fluid went to . Ifeel much better and confident now it is done I think if i had waited longer i would be replacing the T/C.I have included so pictures of the valveI used and the amount of fluid that came out . I hope the appear with the posting .

Thank you

John.

Sorry John but the pics didn't show up.
Congrats on the fluid change though. I'm still shocked how big of a problem this is for these cars. It's ridiculious.

John, like we all said, filled for life is oh so bad for anyone trying to keep the car. Out of curiosity, did you use the ball valve mod or the radiator drain valve mod? More for my own curious mind. I keep running tabs on various mods like this to feed back to other people when they aren't sure which way to jump.

I have no problems posting up nice fixes like this. I know I have gained info from other people and I try to pass out some info when I can. That idea to me is what makes places like this so valuable.

Hi Thermo & 310 Jag.

Trying to get the pictures to upload Keeps saying the file is too large it is only a couple of Photos Any help would be great.
Also Thermoi used the Ball valve model it worked great.

I agree these postings are a wealth of knowledge for current Jag owners and would be jag owners. I have learned so much about these cars in a short space of time.
