Default Transmission fluid exchange

I scheduled an appointment to get my oil changed and a transmission fluid exchange done at Youngstedts which is franchise here in Minnesota. Their website and store states that they are certified to work on Jaguars. Is there anything that I should be worried about?

YES! The xtype transmissions are very picky about their transmission fluid. Ask them what kind of fluid they are going to use in the tranny and check back here to see if it's the right fluid.

As for the oil, most shops will only put in 5 quarts, but our car needs 6 quarts. Just make sure they get it up to the full level on the dipstick and you should be fine!

See another trans fluid thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...tf-found-5444/

It is very likely the chain will not carry the original Jaguar ATF. I've used the Castrol Import ATF with success. Btw there is no dipstick - you will have to open up the overflow tube to level it out to correct level. This after the new fluid is warmed up.

Quick question on the Castrol ATF for our cars: Is it now called "Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle" instead of just "Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle"?

I went to Walmart to get a bunch of it but before I did I checked online to make sure it was in stock, here is the link to what they have online: Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid, 1 qt: Automotive : Walmart.com

In the store that said to have it in stock they had an almost identical bottle to the one in the picture except it also says "Transmax" on it.

Is this the same stuff?

Transmax is equivalent to the Import Multi-Vehicle. You are good to go.
Less expensive option is to use the Valvoline Maxlife which is the route I'm taking after using the Castrol for the last 35k miles.

Thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to be sure.

So I guess they now throw "Transmax" in front of all their transmission fluids. Looking on the Castrol site this seems to be the case.
