Because it is the 2003 and you can eventually get power I would rule out main fuses and say you should check your battery cables. The battery could be fine, but the x types tend to have really strange problems when the battery cable gets too old. The faults that you are getting is just because those systems don't have enough power to startup. I get those exact errors whenever my car dies and I try to start it. Replacing the battery cables should be pretty cheap and is a smart thing to do as preventative maintenance anyways so don't feel too bad if it's not your problem, but this really seems to point to the battery wire.

Ditto. Check the underside of + cable that runs to bottom of the engine compartment fuse box first you may find the insulation worn through and making contact with a body bolt.

This happened to me after I disconnected and reconnected my battery. I was getting secuirty and gearbox failure with all sorts of flashing dash lights. Sometimes power, sometimes no power. Just had to tighted the terminals and it was fine. I bet your connection may be loose or bad at the battery terminal.
