Default Trunk question. Random ones also.

So, bought a used 2002 3.0 XType.
Was a police seziure from a drug dealer so it was a lil dismanteled.
I got a few small pieces left, but my main concern is the compartment in the trunk. On the drivers side in trunk is a door, inside is a cd changer. Above the changer there appears to be something missing.....What is it?
There is a gap about 2 3rds as wide as the cd changer, and above the changer, that is empty.

Also, it has 18" custom rims with fullway hp198 tires. Should I be concerned about any issues arising with the AWD because of the tire change? All 4 have the same tread wear, no odd wear patterns.

Any common issues I should address or be aware of?

I got it with 149K miles, it has set in impound since July 2011, battery was toast. New battery it fired right up, had codes 0057 and 1603 with cel lit. Cleared codes, 1603 went away with the fresh battery. Checked the o2 sensor and sho nuff it read open across the heater, so I replaced it. Still waiting for the 1111 code to show but all looks well so far. Got a tire rub up front high speed dips, see a lil piece of the fender bent down so should be able to fix it. Hear some light whines from the drivetrain, none sound worrisome. I did see a remanufactured sticker on the tranny when I cleaned all the engine and chassis grounds, but it feels good, not tried the sport mode yet. And I found a plug undone under the hood, tiny 2 wire near the battery and fuse box, but see nothing to connect it to, for another day.

Certainly in later models there is a Sat Nav Unit for the CD containing maps etc.
Does yours have a single large screen ?

This seems to be a frequent question and IIRC it is nothing to worry about as it is just used during its life on the production line and then is of no further use.

Others will be along to comment further.
Welcome on board.

Yea the 02's do have the option for nav and the slot above the cd changer is where it sits.

Could be they took out the nav screen and dvd player (usually you see those sold together) and just put in the stock manual controls.

OK, so if the car had NAV, it does not now. Guess no biggie there.
Thx for the input, like my Jag
