Default UK Design Update - Where to find parts

First off I'm in the US - We weren't lucky enough to get the revised bumpers/grill here in 08. There has to be a way to get these parts even if they have to be imported. I would think they should just bolt up to the existing. Even if they don't a little fabrication never hurt. Anyone have thoughts on how/where we could get our hands on these.

I'm looking at buying a second x-type and I was considering trying to make it look like the 08 euro redesign the us got jipped on.

I'm thinking black ext, black int, wood/leather wheel, chrome VDP side mirrors - VDP wheels but a sport pkg spoiler and then the 08 redesign front and rear bumpers and grill.

Well on Mina Gallery, they have the grill for sure, but I'm not sure about the bumpers, wheels, etc. I also know that those facelifted models don't have bumper blades, so whatever you do, it won't look exactly the same.

Good luck!

I like the fact that the facelifted models in europe dont have the blades, it really cleans up the car. I found a front and a back bumper on ebay, but the front is missing all the accessories and is 600 bucks, If it had the fog inserts and chrome cross bar Id buy it but I'm sure one will pop up for less. but its a start - anyone have any other ideas?

The newer bumpers look worse.

I think they clean up the front end. Especially since I have a sport, there is no need for the color keyed corner pieces. Also deleting the leaping jag and putting the emblem in the grill makes it look sportier/sleeker.

Now I'm torn between modifying my sport with the new bumpers/grill/leaper delete or just buying another x-type and going with more of a VDP look. I hate to "modify" a sport pkg car thats in amazing shape, I'd rather "tinker" with a salvaged one, but then I'd have two x-types that primarily sit..I think the quartz exterior brings out details best but having two gray x-types is sillier than have two x-types in general. Open to thoughts on that front as well. Maybe modify a dark blue or silver one (were any of the 04+ dark blues made w/ black interior?)

Well....I'm kinda disappointed I have only gotten two responses and one was really just a comment.... I've decided to take my sport and make it look like an 08/09 euro x-type so I need to find parts....if you know of any websites that carry (or ebay auctions) for the euro 08/09 front and rear bumpers, side turnsignal mirrors and fender turn signal inserts to replace signals let me know.

Sorry gws1983, I think people aren't responding because I don't think many people want to take on the challenge! I agree with ufoz8mycow, the facelifted Euro models look a bit worse, except for the rear bumper. I would help if I knew more about the subject but the only information I know was what I told you earlier about the upper mesh grille on Mina.

Good luck and post pictures along the way!
