I just got a new set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ 225/45/ZR17XL for the Jag.

I've been searching the forums and reading what others have used and settled on the Uniroyals for their wet weather grip- based on what has been posted here by others. For whatever reason, wet traction seems to be lacking in performance tires although all other measurable standards are more or less the same.

I must say, they are a fantastic tire for the price! Time will tell about the mileage, but they ride very smooth with almost no road noise at all. They grip well (of course I had to hit the curvies at speed to test them out). No vibrations or bad habits. For $125 each including install, they are a great value. And as a little goofy detail bonus, the tires have a paw print on the sidewall that works well with the Jaguar theme (cat car, cat tires).

Thanks to all who posted their experiences and suggestions, you saved me a LOT of trial and error, and perhaps no small amount of money. The Uniroyal tire is "GTG".
