Upper coolant hose replacement - RESOLVED
Dear All!
Please direct me to the appropriate thread I could not find it.
2003, 3.0, automatic X-Type.
The "T-pipe" of the "Upper coolant hose" has a hairline fracture (very limitant coolant loss at the moment) and so now I do not really dare to move the car. I bought a brand new hose, but my technician is busy this week, and I would need the car on the weekend.
Question: If I remove the hoses, and only focus on the "T" pipe", do I need to go under the car or remove the bumber to replace it?
Thanks a lot!
Laci

Answering my own question after 4 hours of struggling with these hoses.
I apologize if this is common knowledge, for me, who is a novice in these works, this was stunning.
In order to replace this, you must go under the car (my mechanic said the opposite, based on his experience with Mondeos). I did not know this, and I was only very lucky to have my neighbour around, who could offer me a manhole.
The upper bolt is removable from under the hood, the lower bolt may be, but in my case it was badly stuck and it was very difficult even from under.
Even if you remove both bolts there is another hose (I can only assume that this is the Oil Cooler Outlet hose (C2S30225) that is attached through another hose and fastened by two O-rings. For me it would had been impossible to replace them without going under the car.

Doesn't matter if it's been done many times before, there's always an achievement in a successful DIY.

The upper coolant hose is more annoying than it should be but it's really not that bad. I just had a couple 10 min setbacks outlined in my recent thread. I'm sure if you had to do it again, it would take a quarter of the time.
