Default warning light on dashboard

I have a Jaguar X Type 2004. Sometimes on my dashboard it begins to light he DSC sign, then a lot of other signs too, then the odometer and rotationmeter is falling to zero and the km counter shows only lines. I can feel some change in engine work too. If I stop the car and restart it comes OK everything, then after a while everything starts again. What can be the cause and solution of the problem? Thanks

tibor, from the sounds of things, you have an issue with your instrument cluster. it is possible that you have a broken solder joint where the main harness attaches to the instrument cluster. Otherwise, you may have a chip that is failing and that is causing the information that is exchanged between the various computers to be lost, causing the computers to go into a "Safe" mode, making assumptions about things and this will cause the motor to run differently/rough.

Or, far more simply, a failing battery, or a battery not at full charge because of infrequent use or very short runs.

sov, it could be that, but I think he would be talking about a lot of other issues long before reaching this point. Normally the first things you start seeing is a slow crank on the motor and it taking a few seconds for the motor to catch unlike with a new battery where it will catch almost immediately. The other thing that normally happens is random OBD codes. For the instrument cluster to be showing the signs that it is, there would have to be a pretty low voltage inside the cabin area which I would think would be mentioned from the wipers running slow, headlights not being awefully bright, dash fan running slow, etc.
