2004XType, what every dealership/car repair place thinks should be covered under a 60K mile service will vary. So, get whatever places you go to for a price quote to break out what each service they do and what it costs. As for plugs, they are not needed until 100K miles. So, you can probably scratch that. As for the other things, I would want to know more of what they are doing.

if you are needing the owners manual and the recommended stuff for that, you can find it on the net or e-mail me and I will send you the electronic manuals I have to see what the factory manuals call for.

As far as price is concerned, $200 seems way too low for a complete 60k mile service. $1,200 seems a little high, but I wouldn't doubt it. My dad's 60K mile service for his '02 X-Type was about $1,000 if I recall correctly.

Yes, dealerships may have different ideas as to what should be done at what service interval, but the manufacturer of any vehicle generally has a set list as to what should be done at certain intervals. If your '04 X-Type came with all the manuals, you should have the Passport to Service which outlines the manufacturer's recommendations to service intervals.

If your car did not come with the manuals, this link will give you an idea of what you can expect. It's not official from Jaguar, but seems to be fairly accurate.

Stick to the proper Jag sevice schedule which all dealers should be using!! as used by dealers (see link in my post above) and NOT this one which is different (eg plugs at 90k?? its 70k) and using the same criteria for different model Jags!!
Re if it aint broke rule...a bit of a foolish risk given the price of putting things right that would be maintained during a service and lower resale and market for a car without a proper service history...bad advice IMO!
Alternatively use a specialist...mine charges £35/hr and only uses proper Jag parts which are itemised with part numbers on the receipt which meant my warranty was upheld by Jaguar.Dealer charges £115/hr so big savings and proper servicing if theres a good Jag specialist near you.
The 60k service isnt a big one so shouldnt be too costly
Oil and oil filter...air filter....pollen filter and checks as per service schedule in the link
Also at 5 years the coolant is due
Its the one next year at 70k that is the BIGGY!!

Yes, I do agree with Buck as far as going w/ the service sheets. Sorry Buck, I didn't see the sheets you posted but that's great info.
